IPA Elections 2011
On Monday 28 February 2011 balloting information for the coming IPA elections was circulated to all IPA Members in good standing. The deadline for the receipt of all votes will be Tuesday 31 May 2011. For more information about the elections please see the IPA’s website.

Mexico Congress 3-6 August 2011 – Scientific Programme Highlights

Major sessions announced to date include: Panels on Sexuality, Dreams and The Unconscious. "Meet the Analyst/Meet the Author” sessions with Sheldon Bach (USA), Madeleine Baranger (Argentina), Peter Fonagy (UK), James Grotstein (USA), Arnold Rothstein (USA), and Ted Jacobs (USA). Other key panels include: Psychoanalysis in Mexico, The Impact and Influence of Relational Psychoanalysis, Field Theory, French Psychoanalysis, and Klein Today.

The provisional programme will go online at the IPA website in a few weeks.
Post-Congress Film Festival announced for Mexico Congress

The Post-Congress Film Festival “Disrupted Worlds: The Unconscious in Cinema” will begin at 5pm on Saturday 6 August at the World Trade Centre and continues all day Sunday 7 August at the National Anthropology Museum’s cinema. The following films will be discussed: Los Olvidados, Babel and Pan's Labyrinth.

IPA Recognition of Special Service

The IPA has announced a new initiative to recognise Members who have given special service to the Association. The first Member to receive this official recognition is Nellie L. Thompson (USA).
Second training programme in China opens this June

The IPA China Committee is pleased to announce that a second IPA Psychoanalytic Training Program in China will commence in Shanghai in June 2011. The International New Groups Committee and the IPA Board have appointed Hermann Schultz of the DPV an Interim Training Analyst for China. Meanwhile the first Chinese IPA Psychoanalytic Training Program in Beijing is now in its third year with Irmgard Dettbarn of the DPV as Training Analyst.

Loans Programme For IPA Candidates 2011

The 2011 Interest-free Loans programme for IPA Candidates is open. Applications should arrive not later than 25 April 2011
