Working Parties announced at Mexico City Congress
The pre-Congress small-group Working Parties were so popular at the Chicago Congress they were oversubscribed. The IPA is pleased to announce that a range of Working Parties will be offered in Mexico City in a range of languages on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 August 2011.
The five Working Parties will cover Comparative Clinical Methods, Initiating Psychoanalysis, Clinical Forum, Specificity of Psychoanalytic Treatment Today and End of Training Evaluation. Tickets for the WPs will be available later this year when Congress registration opens. Further details will be announced shortly.
If you wish to suggest an additional Working Party and have the requisite experience to run it, please write to Beth Seelig, co-ordinator of the Mexico City WPs, on bseelig@emory.edu with your proposal, which can be in any of the 4 IPA languages. The deadline for suggestions is 1 September 2010, however as the capacity for WPs is very limited please make your suggestion as soon as possible.

Mexico City - A Treasure-House of Ancient and Modern riches
The Mexico City Congress Local Arrangements Committee describe the cultural marvels of their historic city. In March 2010 a joint meeting of the German Psychoanalytic Association (DPV) and German Psychoanalytic Society (DPG) took place. Reflecting on the troubled history of psychoanalysis in Germany and the rivalry that had marred relationships between these two groups, the meeting was a significant one.
